HostGator.com, a provider of shared, dedicated and reseller hosting, today announced that it now hosts over 200,000 domains. To celebrate the milestone and kick off the New Year, Host Gator is launching the ‘Extreme Web Makeover’ promotion in conjunction with WiredByDuffy, a web design and development firm based in Folsom, California.
Businesses can submit their web sites for consideration, with the winner receiving a web site makeover and re-design from WiredByDuffy in addition to one free year of Host Gator’s Diamond Reseller Plan, valued at $99.95 per month. The web site re-design from WiredByDuffy is valued at over $1,500. The contest runs from January 28th to February 28th.

SWsoft, a provider of server automation and virtualization service, yesterday announced that GoDaddy.com, an ICANN accredited registrar, has selected Virtuozzo for Windows 3.0 and Plesk for Windows 7.5 to power its new Windows virtual dedicated server hosting offerings.
Go Daddy claims that similar to its current Linux VPS offering, the Virtuozzo for Windows powered VPS offering is integrated with the Plesk control panel to improve functionality and ease of use for end customers.

Hosting.com, a provider of web hosting services, today announced the acquisition of a 36,000 sq.ft. data center facility in Irvine, Southern California.
The facility will offer managed colocation hosting solutions and also provide additional redundancy. Additionally it will offer more geographic diversity for all Hosting.com customers, says the company.
